Hi SPMers,

I plan to attend the 2010 MRS Spring conference in San Francisco during 5th-9th April. I will give two talks, in two sessions, on the surface structure of graphene and graphite by STM and AFM high resolution stuides. I will be quite free for visit and discussion during the period.

If any lab in SFO or even in CA is available for visit during the period (at no cost to you), please contact me offline.

I will arrange beforehand and prepare to give a talk on either AFM high resolution, surface force measurements, SPM tip modification techniques, surface chemistry of oxides by AFM, or STM on surface structure of graphene and graphite. Those talks are largely based on some of my review articles below and research papers (please go to my website for the full list):

 Y. Gan, Atomic- and Subnanometer Resolution in Ambient Conditions with Atomic Force Microscope, Surface Science Reports, 64 (2009), 99-121.

 Y. Gan, A Review of Techniques for Attaching Micro- and Nanoparticle to a Probe¡¯s Tip for Surface Force and Near-field Optical Measurements, Review of Scientific Instruments, 78 (2007) 081101.

 G. V. Franks, Y. Gan, Charging behaviour at the alumina water interface and implications for ceramic Processing, Journal of the American Ceramic Society, 90 (2007) 3373-3388.

Best regards,

Yang
