[Spm] Cleaning grating TGT-01

Dear SPMers,
I feel that my previous e-mail deserves clarification with respect to my
note about CO2 cleaning of TGT-01.
CO2 cleaning is generally used to remove/dissolve organic. However, as
was pointed by Dr. Sherman in his e-mail to me, CO2 SNOW cleaning
mentioned by him is fundamentally different (although not finally
understood) method. Apparently it is a fairly complicated process, see
http://co2clean.com/clnmech.htm <http://co2clean.com/clnmech.htm> ,
which presumably also involves ballistic/hydrodynamical impact and large
temperature gradient. As such, it is definitely an interesting method to
test.
Furthermore, Dr. Sherman wrote:
" As a last note, you would know that Chris Honig tried CO2 snow
cleaning on the grating and in his email to me he said "We have a CO2
snow cleaner, so I just did it. The clean(ing).. was awesome (see
attached)."
I hope Chris Honig would be kind to share the images with us.
To conclude, taking into account different nature of various
contaminations, some of the contaminations may stay even after this
cleaning. Nevertheless, this way of cleaning may definitely be an
interesting option to try.
Best regards,
Igor

Chris and SPM list
Have you ever heard of CO2 snow cleaning. We have cleaned step height
calibration standards and seen great results. We offer a service on
that too. We show some AFM cleaning on our web site and I can email you
some AFM images of step height cleaning data. Look at
www.co2clean.com/afm.htm
I hope you are getting good answers!

To whom is may concern,
We have a TGT-01 reverse tip grating of Si spikes that are about
750nm high, spaced on a 2-D grid at about 3 um separation. The grating
has gradually accumulated dust and other crud over many years of use and
it's ability to image spheres on cantilevers is steadily getting worse.
Do you have a good procedure for cleaning this grating?
Thanks,
Chris Honig.
