Dear fellow SPMers -
I'd like you all to be aware of the Nanoprobe Network
(http://nanoprobenetwork.org), a new, free, non-profit, web-based
community for SPM researchers in all fields around the world. The
Network's goal is to provide an interactive, user-driven web space for
the exchange of information, ideas, techniques, protocols, images,
software, and discussions.
The Network is sponsoring a contest for the best contributions to the
site. *The winning entries will receive iPod Nano's.* *To enter the
contest*, click here: http://nanoprobenetwork.org/contest and become a
registered member of the Network. You are then invited to:
* Create or edit an article within Probe-Pedia, the
Wikipedia-inspired on-line guide to probe science and technology.
A prize will be awarded for the *Best New Probe-Pedia Article*.
* View, download, or contribute to the A/V Library for images,
audios, videos, software, presentations. Prizes will be awarded
for the *Best New Image File, Best New Audio File, Best New Video
File, and Best Contributed Presentation. *The best image will be
featured on the home page of the site.
* Create a *Member Profile *for yourself. A prize will be awarded
for the most inspired Member Profile page.
* Submit a suggestion for a *slogan* for the site. A prize will be
awarded to the winning slogan which we will then use in the future.
The contest deadline is * February 28^th , 2009*. A panel of judges
will review the submissions and winners will be announced shortly
thereafter.
Please note: the Nanoprobe Network is not intended to be a competitor or
replacement for the SPM Digest. Rather, we offer different functions
including Probe-Pedia, Blogs, Member Pages, etc.
Feel free to spread the word about the contest, and please get involved
in building up this resource.
sincerely,
Rob Carpick
