We have no exact idea about this 20Hz noise. It appears sometimes.
But sometimes the STM works well without any noise. I hope the
following information will be useful for you. We will also try to
understand the origin of the 20Hz noise. Keep in touch please.

Dear Peng Yang,
You could be looking at the building “talking”. All buildings will
have a resonant frequency and most fall between 16 and 30Hz. If you
are not on a vibration pad that is isolated from the rest of the
building, you will need to get a vibration isolation platform. Minus-
K has excellent passive isolators (0.5Hz) and Herzan has excellent
active isolators.
