Postdoctoral position in ALTERNATIVE ENERGY available immediately at
Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot, ISRAEL

* High resolution electrical characterization of grain boundaries and
interfaces, and their role in (photo)current flow. A multinational team
seeks a postdoctoral fellow for up to 3 years in a stimulating academic
environment with access to state-of-the-art microscopy facilities,
notably fully equipped scanning probe microscope laboratories with
capabilities for STM, conductive-AFM, scanning capacitance microscopy,
scanning Kelvin probe microscopy, and others. The research will further
include investigations using scanning electron microscope equipped with
EBIC and nanomanipulators for single grain electrical probing.
Materials to be investigated include polycrystalline and nanocrystalline
photovoltaic materials, where grain boundary effects have been shown to
play a key role in the cell function. Keen interest in alternative
energy, coupled with good background in scanning microscopy desired, in
addition to knowledge of semiconductor physics and chemistry. Earlier
work from the group can be found in:
Appl. Phys. Lett., 79, 2919-2121 (2001); 82, 556-58 (2003); 83,
