Dear
colleague,

I’ve recently met with a problem
with my MultiMode Workstation: its hardisk broke off itself. I’ve replaced it
with another old hardisk and I’ve tried to install in it MS-DOS 6.0 and the
version 4.23r3 of the NanoScope software. Unfortunately the software doesn’t
start giving me an error message of “Protection fault”.

Have anyone
found himself in this situation?

Now I go
into details:

I’ve a MultiMode microscope with NanoScope III controller. The original, broken, hardisk was
about of 230MB (Workstation equipped with Intel 486dx2 CPU). I’ve not any installation instruction of the NanoScope 4.23r3
software.

-
My
it be perhaps a problem correlated with hardisk compatibility?

-
Is
there a particular installation procedure for the NanoScope 4.23r3 software, for
instance dealing with a partition of the hardisk?

The error
message is: “FATAL ERROR: Protection fault” followed by a set of numbers which
at the moment I omit.
Please ask me all the informations you need to help me.

Waiting for
any suggestion, best regards,

Daniele
